Red Lion Hotel

Great hotel and extremely helpful lady on reception who helped my elderly father who got caught up in the M27 closure chaos late in the evening and decided to stop overnight. She helped him plan a route so that he could safely get home the next morning which I am very grateful for thank you. The room was very nice, free parking and a lovely breakfast.

This is our 5th time staying here and we wouldn’t go anywhere else when visiting the area. We’ve stayed both as a couple and now as a family with young children. The rooms are always excellent, the food is always delicious. The whole feel of the place is relaxed. The staff are super friendly and professional every time. And all of this for an excellent price. Parking is plentiful and the location is excellent for being quick off the motorway but also an easy walk into Fareham. Will be coming back many more times I’m sure!

Passing through the area to meet a friend yesterday who had booked here for a meal at around 4pm. The male bartender was extremely friendly, engaging and helpful - apologies didn't get your name, but excellent reception and 'stand out' service. Food was excellent, scampi and chips, burger and a roast dinner. Chips - the sign of a good chef! - were wonderful. Bakewell tart and sticky toffee pudding great too. A really great meal at reasonable prices, topped off with friendly, attentive but discreet table service. A real gem. If we visit again we'll definitely be visiting. Highly recommend.

A characterful Victorian pub/guest house in the centre of Fareham at the top of a seemingly thriving high street. Elegant traditional decor makes for a pleasant pub/restaurant atmosphere. Easy to find with a large car park. Clean, comfortable and large room with en suite which features a proper bath tub. Room seemed rather hot for my liking but was easily rectified by turning down the radiator thermostat. Excellent food which surpassed my expectations for the price point. The rump steak was excellent, as was the macaroni cheese I tried on my second evening. Friends who joined me for dinner also reported an excellent dining experience. Comprehensive breakfast menu, of which I sampled the full English and eggs royale, both of which were superb. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay again and highly recommend.

First time saying here and it's a nice pub that's situated perfectly right next to Fareham Town. The lady who checked me in was friendly and guided me in regards to my stay and how breakfast worked etc. The room was indeed clean but very basic, I do feel like the rooms could do with an update/refurb considering the price. The breakfast was lovely and the breakfast staff where friendly and efficient! Upon checking out I wasn't asked how was my stay or anything, I think that could be worked on! Overall a decent 3.5 stars is my rating and I'd recommend if in the area, just a refurbishment and I could see this being an amazing place!

Had a works xmas do here. Service, food, atmosphere all good. As a hotel have no idea but as a place to go for a pub meal, very nice.

Spent one night there, traveling home from a motorcycling holiday in Spain. Excellent Hotel, spotlessly clean room. Friendly people and at breakfast there was every thing you could have wished for to eat. Excellent highly recommend would go back there without a thought. 10 out of 10

Service here is amazing. We were served by Alison who was very accommodating for my very fussy 4 year old. Kept him entertained the whole way through our meal. She was very understanding and nothing was too much to ask. Highly recommend this venue for food and drinks

Good value, good breakfast, nice staff, plenty of room in pub / restaurant. End of High Street, so quiet enough and within reach of everything

Only used the pub. Good selection of drinks, lots of seating and food is good but portions are minimal so pricing feels high. Friendly staff and nice toilets. Lots of parking at the back where you pay upfront and reclaim the cost on your purchase.
